KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) indicted prime suspect in Mustafa Amir murder Armaghan Qureshi for trying to kill a journalist within the remit of the Bahadurabad police station in 2024.

Armaghan was brought before the ATC judge-XV, who read out charges against him. However, the suspect pleaded not guilty and opted to contest the charges. The court adjourned the hearing of the case till September 6, and summoned the prosecution’s witnesses at the next date.

According to the FIR, complainant Nadeem Ahmed said that on Nov 19, 2024, he was on his way to the office on a motorcycle. As he approached the KDA Scheme area, a double-cabin vehicle abruptly applied brakes, which led to an argument between him and a man. During the altercation, the suspect allegedly pulled out a weapon and opened fire. As a result, the journalist was wounded. The suspect then fired more shots to spread panic and terror before fleeing the scene.
