LARKANA: Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari distributed ownership documents of loader and Qingqi rickshaws at a ceremony held in the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Cricket Stadium in Naudero on Monday.

The ceremony was organised by the Larkana District Council for the distribution of the vehicles among the needy under the Apna Rickshaw, Apna Rozgar scheme.

Earlier in the day, the PPP chairman also distributed titles (ownership documents of homes) in Rahuja village of Ratodero taluka. Several women members of the families affected by the 2022 floods in the province received the papers. Bilawal also visited the site of the other under-construction homes in the village and interacted with the women and their children.

Addressing the audience in the stadium, Bilawal said that those benefiting from the Apna Rickshaw, Apna Rozgar scheme should make full use of the vehicle.

He asked MNAs, MPAs, Sindh government, PPP office-bearers and elected representatives at district level to take ownership of development projects so that people at grassroots level could benefit from them directly.

He recalled that during former PM Benazir Bhutto’s government in 1995, sewerage and clean drinking water projects were completed in Ratodero taluka. Similar attention should be paid to such projects in Larkana and Qambar-Shahdadkot, he stressed.

Bilawal praised Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti for being a strong voice for his people, and said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah was also an equally strong voice for the people of Sindh on issues like the NFC Award and economic challenges.

He said all PPP elected representatives must ensure that people were properly served so that their problems could be solved on a priority basis. He congratulated the district council chairman and his entire team for offering employment opportunities to the poor.

During the ceremony, loader and Qinqui rickshaws were distributed among the unemployed youth. The ceremony was attended by PPP’s women wing president MPA Faryal Talpur, Sindh President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Aijaz Jakhrani, Sohail Anwar Siyal, Khursheed Junejo, Abdul Fattah Bhutto and others. District Council Chairman Aijaz Ahmed Leghari hosted the event, where singer Sajjan Maeri gave a mystic music performance.
