KARACHI: Seven suspects including four policemen were arrested in two different actions for their alleged involvement in stealing precious goods from the Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM), police said on Sunday.

Acting on a tip-off, the Bin Qasim police conducted a raid and arrested four policemen, who were stealing copper from the mills, said a police spokesperson.

All the four policemen were allegedly arrested red-handed, he said, adding that they were identified as Ali Gul, Wajid Khan, Asif Ali and Zabur Ahmed. All of them belonged to Shaheen Force, the spokesperson said.

Over 55kg copper was recovered from their custody, the official said.

In a separate incident, the police claimed to have arrested three suspects and recovered 100 kilograms of copper stolen from the PSM.

The suspects were identified as Hasnain, Zahir and Waqar. They were involved in stealing precious goods from the PSM, the police said.
