NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Two minor brothers were injured when a toy-like bomb exploded inside a house in Miramshah amid a curfew in North Waziristan district on Saturday.
According to the police, the explosion took place in a residential building near the Syed Jalal checkpoint when the children were playing with an object that resembled a toy.
The injured siblings have been identified as Javed, 8, and Khalid, 6. They were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Miramshah, where they are receiving medical treatment.
According to hospital sources, both children are out of danger.
Following the incident, a large police force arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and launched an investigation.
Initial investigations suggest that the toy-like bomb was thrown or left at an unknown location and was brought home by the children thinking it was a toy.
Meanwhile, a curfew has been imposed across North Waziristan, as is done every Saturday and Sunday.
According to the district administration, the curfew is enforced to facilitate the movement of security forces and ensure safety measures. During this time, public movement remains restricted, causing difficulties for residents.
