QUETTA: A doctor and a tribal elder’s son were gunned down by unknown armed men in separate incidents in Qila Abdullah district and Quetta on Friday.

Armed men opened fire on Aslam Tareen, son of tribal elder Rauf Segi Tareen, near a check post on Jinnah Road in Quetta, killing him on the spot.

Police officials rushed to the site and shifted the body to Civil Hospital. The motive behind the killing was not immediately known, though officials suspected it could be due to enmity.

In another incident, armed men opened fire on a man near crossing in the Saranan area of Qila Abdullah, killing him on the spot. The victim, Dr Muhammad Iqbal, received multiple bullet wounds.
