LAUSANNE: Ukraine’s Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk, a world silver medallist in both long jump and triple jump, has been banned four years for doping, the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) announced on Tuesday.

“The AIU has banned Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk for four years from 13 May 2025 for Presence/Use of a Prohibited Substance (Testosterone),” the anti-doping body said on X.

Bekh-Romanchuk, 30, tested positive for testosterone on December 7 last year, the AIU said. She was provisionally suspended in May.

Bekh-Romanchuk won silver in the long jump at the 2019 world championships and in the triple jump in 2023 when she lost to Venezuela’s Yulimar Rojas in the final round.

She finished 11th in the triple jump final at last year’s Paris Olympics.
