QUETTA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has accorded an approval for establishing Daanish School in Turbat, District Kech.

Turbat was officially added to the Danish Schools project after a meeting of National Party Senator Mir Jan Muhammad Buledi with the prime minister.

During the meeting, Mr Buledi secured the prime minister’s approval for establishing a Daanish School in Turbat.

Back in 2022, the prime minister had promised to establish Daanish Schools in different areas of Balochistan during his visit to flood-affected Sobatpur district.

The premier has directed the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) to bear the entire cost of construction and establishment of the school under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

Later, Mr Buledi held a meeting with OGDCL Executive Director Zia Salahuddin, who assured of full financial support for the project.

He confirmed that the OGDCL would cover all expenses related to the school’s construction and operational setup. After completion, the school will be handed over to the project director of Daanish Schools for formal operations.

During the meeting, the executive director requested Mr Buledi to identify and secure a suitable piece of land for the school.

“This landmark initiative marks a major leap toward providing equitable access to quality education for youth in south Balochistan. It also reflects the government’s commitment to human development through concrete action in underprivileged regions,” Mr Buledi said.
