KARACHI, May 18: The Sindh Professors and Lecturers' Association has expressed grave concern over the delay in promotion of lecturers, demanding the government to take action against those responsible.

A SPLA press release issued on Thursday said that though a meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee of the Sindh education department for promotion of lecturers to assistant professors had been summoned on May 20, the files of many lecturers were still lying at the offices of the EDO and DO Colleges to be forwarded to the DPC.

It said that the principals of some 25 colleges had still not submitted the annual confidential reports (ACRs) of lecturers. It further said that some ACRs were still not signed though their signing authorities had retired from service.

The SPLA urged the chief minister and chief secretary to remove obstacles in the way of smooth departmental promotions of lecturers.—PPI
