NAWABSHAH: First Lady and MNA Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari on Saturday laid foundation stone for Benazir Girls School in 60-Miles area and inspected the houses built under the Sindh Peoples Housing for Flood Affected program in a village in Daur taluka.

Accompanied by Sindh Minister for Health Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho, Ms Bhutto-Zardari also met with flood-victims in the villages of Khadim Hussain Shar and Faiz Mohammad Pathan, inaugurated Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Hockey Stadium and All Sindh Inter-division Pink Hockey Championship in Nawabshah.

She said that the school would provide quality education to girls, as it was equipped with modern facilities, including 45 classrooms, libraries and laboratories for primary and secondary education.

She praised Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari for launching the world’s largest free housing scheme and said that PPP believed in serving people at their doorsteps and not in the politics of hatred and divide.

She stressed that by investing in education and healthcare, the Sindh government aimed to empower its citizens, particularly girls and women, and provide them with opportunities for growth and development. The Benazir Girls School was expected to be a significant step towards achieving this goal, she added.

House ownership documents distributed

During her visit of different villages in Daur taluka, Ms Bhutto-Zardari visited the constructed houses, distributed ownership documents among female heads of households.

She also met with the flood-affected families.
