LAHORE: Maintaining their unbeaten run, Pakistan defeated Türkiye 3-0 in the World U-19 Volleyball Championship in Tashkent on Saturday.

Having beaten Belgium and hosts Uzbekistan earlier in the pool stage, this was Pakistan’s third consecutive win in the event.

Mohammad Saud (16 points) emerged as the best scorer for Pakistan while Mohammad Yahya added 14 points.

Pakistan won the match 25-17, 25-19, 25-19 against Türkiye to qualify for the top-16 round of the tournament.

Pakistan’s major share of points came from their attacking game (42 points); 21 points came from the opponent team’s unforced errors, 10 points were earned through good blocking while two points were made through aces.

In their next match, Pakistan play Puerto Rico on Monday before facing Argentina on Tuesday in the last pool stage match.
