GUJRAT: The Special Court Central-1, Gujranwala, on Wednesday sentenced a human trafficker to 20 years rigorous imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs1.4 million. The conviction has been made under three different sections.
According to the prosecution, an FIR under section 17/22 EO 1979, 6 PSMA 2018 was lodged with the FIA crime circle against accused Muhammad Kashif on the charges of extorting an amount of Rs4 million for sending the brother of the complainant to Spain, but he failed to do so while the immigrant is missing.
In the above case, Kashif has been convicted u/s 17 EO 1979 with three years rigorous imprisonment and Rs200,000 fine. In case of non-payment of fine, the accused will have to face three months additional imprisonment.
And u/s 22 EO 1979, the court sentenced the convict to seven years rigorous imprisonment and fined him Rs200,000 and in case of non-payment offine, he has to undergo three months additional imprisonment.
Under section 6 PSMA 2018, the accused was sentenced to 10 years rigorous imprisonment and Rs one million fine. In case of non-payment, he will have to face six months additional imprisonment.
