LAHORE: To address the escalating prices of sugar, the Punjab government has set the ex-mill and retail prices for sugar for the next four months.

The Director General Food and Cane Commissioner Punjab has issued a notification detailing the new price structure.

According to the notification, from now until Aug 14 the ex-mill price for sugar is fixed at Rs165 per kg, while the retail price will be Rs173 per kg.

From Aug 15 to Sept 14, the ex-mill price will be Rs167 per kg, and the retail price will be Rs175 per kg. From Sept 15 to Oct 14, the ex-mill price will be Rs169 per kg, and the retail price Rs177 per kg. From Oct 15 onwards, the ex-mill price will be Rs171 per kg, and the retail price Rs179 per kg.

The Secretary Price Control has instructed the Director General Food to ensure strict implementation of these fixed prices.
