KARACHI, May 15: The Provincial Minister for Planning and Development, Shoaib Ahmed Bukhari, has said that delay in a project’s completion could be tolerated but there could be no compromise on quality.

He ordered completion of the building of the Government College Qasba Colony, SITE Town, by June 30, 2006 so that classes could start from the new academic session.

He issued the directive during an inspection visit to the said under-construction college building in UC-8 of Qasba Colony.

The Acting Nazim of SITE Town, Syed Badshah Khan, Nazim Orangi Town Abdul Huq and Naib Nazim Javed Alshabir were also present.

The college is being constructed on an area of 68,998 sq-ft at a cost of Rs67.10 million. So far, Rs26.50 million have been spent on the project.

The college will have 14 classrooms, 12 laboratories, an administration block, a auditorium hall, a library, a canteen, a kitchen, a dispensary and a union office. The minister went round various sections of the college building.

He said that with the construction of the college in the poor locality, the students from Site, North Nazimabad and Orangi towns would be benefited.

He asked the TMO Site Town to immediately provide water connection to the college. He also planted a tree on the occasion.—APP
