KARACHI, May 15: Naib Nazim Nasreen Jalil has said that mother’s lap is the first training place for a child and a mother is the one who not only showers love but also sacrifice her whole life and desires for her children.

She stated this while speaking as chief guest at a Mother Day function at Safari park organised by the city government in coordination with KOLSON on Sunday.

She said that history of world's big people showed that their successes had been owing to superior training of their mothers. “Although Mother Day is a western tradition, good things must be adopted,” Nasreen Jalil said and added that our hearts must remain filled with love and care for mother, not for one day but every moment of life. “We will have to transform ourselves as good human beings through our actions so that our mothers could be proud of us,” she said.

Nasreen Jalil said that our soil, city and country were also like mother and as citizens it was our duty to protect our city properties and for this there was need to develop the spirit of tolerance, love and understanding.

She said that nothing was difficult in the world to perform and we all together have to bring this city into the ranks of developed countries. But it would be possible only when people would cooperate and abide by law, she said.

The function was also addressed by EDO Community Development Reehana Saif. –APP
