NAWABSHAH: A man and his son were shot dead by unknown assailants in a village near Shahpur Chakar town of Sanghar district on Sunday.

According to police, Sobo Umrani, 55, and his son, Ahmed Khan, 22, were buying groceries from a shop in Murad Shah village, on the outskirts of Shahpur Chakar town, when they were gunned down.

The attackers managed to flee the area, they said.

Police sources attributed the incident to an old enmity between two rival groups of the Umrani community.

The bodies were taken to the Peoples Medical University Hospital, Nawabshah, for a postmortem examination.
