
RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Army, Rangers and Police took part in the flag march, which began from Police Headquarters and moved through different areas of city as part of preparations to ensure foolproof security during Muharram.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Kashif Zulfiqar led the flag march, and officers of Pakistan Army and Rangers participated in the flag march. Superintendent of Police Security, Divisional SPs, SDPOs, SHOs, Elite Commandos, Dolphin Force, and Traffic Police officers also participated in the flag march.
The flag march, in which police vehicles blaring sirens started from the police headquarters and passed through different areas of the city.
City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani said on the occasion that aim of the flag march was to express commitment to foolproof security on the occasion of Muharram-ul-Haram, as more than 8,000 officers and personnel are performing security and traffic duties.
CPO said that foolproof security arrangements have been made in coordination with the district administration and security agencies.
He further said that monitoring is being done with more than 1,700 cameras of Safe City, a central control room has been established in Safe City Rawalpindi, and strict monitoring is being done on the ground and on social media.
The Punjab government’s SOPs are being implemented in a systematic manner, senior officers are monitoring the security arrangements themselves, and all steps are being taken to ensure law and order.
