KARACHI, May 12: More than 1000 acres of government land worth Rs1.5 billion in Gaddap town was evacuated from illegal occupants by the officials of City District Government of Karachi.

The land-mafia had constructed hotels, shops and boundaries on a vast area.

City nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal, accompanied by EDO Revenue Saleh Farooqi, had visited this area a few days back and expressed grave concern over rapidly built encroachments and issued directives to take measures for the protection of government land.

EDO Revenue had constituted a task force in the supervision of DDO Revenue Dr Saifur Rehman who on Thursday in a special operation evacuated this place from illegal occupation.—PPI
