KARACHI, May 12: The Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association (SPLA) has claimed that candidates of HSC Part I and II Science group have not yet received their admit cards for the annual examinations beginning on May 16.

Syed Riaz Ahsan, Manzoor Hussain Chishti, Mohsin Raza Bhatti, Athar Hussain and other SPLA leaders, in a statement issued here on Friday, expressed grave concern over the delay, and said that admits cards were supposed to be delivered to the candidates at least a fortnight before the examinations.

The Board of Intermediate Education has also allowed the students to submit their examination forms by May 15 which again is a violation of the prescribed rules, which binds candidates to submit the forms at least 40 days before the examination, according to the statement.

“This all is the result of mismanagement and inefficiency of the board officials that has encouraged illegal practices in the process of examinations,” they said.

Surprisingly, they added, no examination material, including duplicate admit cards, had been provided to the teachers assigned with the examination duty.

They wondered that even the enrolment cards, for which forms had been submitted along with the fee eight months back, had not been received by all applicants.

The SPLA leaders deplored that the teachers who had performed their assigned examination duties last year were still awaiting the payment of relevant allowance.

They said that the Sindh governor had ordered increasing the allowance from Rs150 a day to Rs300 but his order had not been complied with as yet.

They urged the governor, as well as the chief minister and chief secretary to order an increase in the allowance up to the amount being paid to the teachers of other universities.-—PPI
