RAWALPINDI: Pakistan has extended the ban on Indian aircraft using its airspace for another month amid ongoing tensions between the two countries, the Pakistan Airports Authority said on Monday.

The restriction, first imposed on April 24, was initially set for one month and then extended on May 23.

The latest notice to airmen NOTAM issued by the authority states that the ban will now remain in effect until July 23.

“Pakistani airspace will remain closed to Indian aircraft until July 23,” a spokesman for the authority said.

“The restriction applies to all Indian-registered or leased aircraft, including passenger and military flights.”

The NOTAM specifies that aircraft operated, owned or leased by Indian airlines or operators, including military flights, are prohibited from entering Pakistani airspace.

However, the airspace remains open to all other international flights.
