TAXILA: Four persons, among them three women,were killed in various parts of Taxila and Attock on Sunday, police and rescue sources said.

In the first incident, a teenage girl died by suicide in Jameelabad area in the limits of Taxila police station on Sunday.

Police sources, while quoting the family of the victim, said 18-year-old Sania Bibi’s marriage was settled against her will. On Sunday, she locked herself in a room and shot herself with a pistol.

Later, her body was handed over for burial after autopsy at Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.

Moreover, a man beat his wife to death over a domestic dispute in Mohallah Rehmania in the limits of Jand police station.

Police sources said Abdul Khalid tortured his 42-year-old wife with sticks and rods, resultantly she succumbed to injuries.

Meanwhile, lightning killed a woman in Sarwaya village in the limits of Pindigheb police station.

The hospital sources said the woman was returning home from fields when lightning struck her.

Meanwhile, a boy drowned in Indus River in Shamsabad area in the limits of Hazro Police Station.

Police sources said 17-year-old Mohammad Rafiq went to the river for bathing and drowned.

Moreover, a man shot another over a monetary dispute near a wagon stand area in the limits of Jand police station.

Police sources said Kafyatullah borrowed money from Syed Shah but did not return it. On Sunday, Shah intercepted Kafayat and shot him, resulting in him being critically injured. The assailant managed to flee from the scene.
