BAJAUR: A woman was killed after lighting struck a house in Khar tehsil here on Saturday evening.
Rescue 1122 and local residents said the incident occurred at Abdul Manan’s house in the Sheikh Meno area during heavy rainfall.
They told Dawn that the lightning strike seriously injured a woman, who was sitting in the veranda. The local people immediately rushed her to the District Headquarters Hospital, Khar, for treatment.
A Rescue 1122 official, however, said the woman was pronounced dead by doctors upon arrival at the hospital.
Heavy rain, accompanied by thunderstorm and winds, damaged crops and other infrastructure.
