PESHAWAR: The deputy inspector general of police, Kohat region, Abbas Majeed Khan Marwat, visited Orakzai on Monday to review security situation, following recent incidents in the area.

A statement issued here said that during the visit, the DIG inspected police posts that had come under attack in recent days and met with policemen deployed there. In recognition of their bravery and swift response in repulsing the attacks, cash rewards were distributed among the officers, who demonstrated exceptional courage.

He also held meetings with local elders to engage community in ongoing efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region. He emphasised the importance of community cooperation in countering militancy and appreciated the support extended by tribal elders to police.
