LAHORE: A sessions court on Thursday allowed pre-arrest bail to ‘controversial’ YouTuber in a case of alleged blasphemy and cyber crime.

The YouTuber appeared before the court along with his counsel.

Rejecting the charges against his client, the counsel stated that the petitioner wanted to join the police investigation to prove his innocence. He asked the court to grant pre-arrest bail to the petitioner as police were bent upon to arrest him.

Additional District & Sessions Judge Suleman Ghumman allowed bail to the YouTuber till June 21 and restrained the police from arresting him till the next hearing.

Nishtar Town police had registered a case against the YouTuber under section 295 C of Pakistan Penal Code and provisions of the Prevention of Electronic Crime Act 2016.

The other day, Nawab Town police also registered a case against him and four others on the charge of rape of a female social media ‘influencer.’
