SARGODHA: Three persons, including a man and his son, were killed, while two others, a woman among them, were injured when armed men opened indiscriminate fire on the house of their opponents at Salem village on Sargodha-Gujrat Road.

According to police sources, Riaz was sleeping with his family at Dera Riaz Mangat at Salem village when his three armed opponents barged in and opened indiscriminate fire, killing Nabil (25),

Riaz (52) and his son Usman (35) on the spot.

Nabil’s brother Raheel and Usman’s wife Samreen Bibi were seriously injured in the firing.

The suspects allegedly belonging to Veinse group fled the scene after the attack.

On being informed, Rescue 1122 and police teams reached the spot and after collecting evidence sifted the injured persons and the bodies to Bhalwal THQ Hospital, where the condition of the Raheel is said to be critical.

As per initial police investigation, the killings are a result of an old enmity.

Taking notice of the incident, Punjab IGP Dr Usman Anwar has sought a report from the DPO and directed him to immediately arrest the culprits involved in the triple murder.

DPO Sohaib Ashraf has sought a report from the SP Investigation and ordered immediate arrest of the killers.
