SARGODHA: Four members of a family fell into the river Jehlum on the third day of Eidul Azha while taking selfies on their phones.

Rescue 1122 was able to find a young man and he was shifted to the hospital, while three others including two young women were missing till the filing of this report. Rescue teams were searching for the other three people.

According to eyewitnesses, four people, including a husband and wife, from the same family from Kot Lashkar Khan locality in Sahiwal tehsil were taking selfies on their mobile phones at the Langarwala bridge on the river Jhelum near Sahiwal in Sargodha. All four fell into the river and only Zeeshan Anwar (23) was rescued with the help of a local sailor and was shifted to the Sahiwal THQ hospital.

The family has alleged that Rescue teams were not helping in the search for the other three missing members of the family -- Sarfaraz Mumtaz (30), his wife Nida Sarfaraz (22) and Nazia Sajjad (22).

Rescue 1122 said search was ongoing for the missing people with the help of expert divers.

SACRIFICIAL MEAT: The meat of sacrificial animals is being sold to restaurant owners throughout the city by nomads and beggars who collected meat from citizens on Eidul Azha.

Most restaurant owners are buying the sacrificial meat at cheap prices. Beef is being sold for Rs600 per kg, while mutton is being sold for Rs1,000 per kg.

On Eidul Azha, a large number of nomads from different cities collected beef and mutton from homes in large quantities. The same was then sold to restaurants throughout the city.

There are also reports of sacrificial meat being sold in other cities besides Sargodha.

Videos of openly selling meat to restaurants are going viral on social media.

MEAT: A large number of nomads and beggars who collected meat of sacrificial animals on Eidul Azha have started selling it to various hotels in the city.

Most hotel owners are buying this meat at cheap prices. Beef is being sold for Rs600 per kg while mutton is being sold openly for Rs1,000 per kg.

On Eidul Azha, nomads collected beef and mutton from the streets in large quantities. While buyers of camel meat are less visible, cow and goat meat is being bought in large quantities by various hotels.
