LAKKI MARWAT: A lawyer lost his life when a pistol mistakenly went off at a milkman’s shop in the Naizam Bazaar area of Bannu on Friday, the police said.

They said that due to the negligence and carelessness of the milkman’s worker, a pistol lying at his outlet fell on the ground and went off, killing the lawyer, identified as Tufailur Rehman.

They said that the incident occurred in the limits of Basyakhel police station.

Shakilur Rehman, a brother of the deceased, told police that someone informed him that the body of his brother was lying at the Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital.

He said that he immediately reached the hospital and found the body of Tufail lying in a pool of blood.

“Later I came to know that Tufail was present at the milkman’ shop where a pistol fell on the ground and went off due to the negligence of a worker, namely Musawir who was busy cleaning the outlet,” he claimed.

He told police that his brother was critically injured and rushed to hospital where he died during treatment.

The police said the body was later shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital to conduct the postmortem. They said that they had registered a case against the accused.
