QUETTA: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir has emphasised the need for peaceful resolution of longstanding internationally recognised Kashmir dispute, assailing India’s “unlawful and legally untenable hydro-terrorism”.

While addressing the faculty and course participants at Command and Staff College, during his visit to Quetta on Friday, the COAS talked about the Indian state’s role in sponsoring terrorism inside Pakistan and the reinvigorated counter-terrorism drive.

He expressed confidence that nation’s fight against terrorism would be driven to a logical conclusion, with success against all forms and manifestations of terrorism.

Paying tribute to the martyrs of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos and expressing solidarity with their family members, the COAS stated that under the national leadership, the people of Pakistan became “a wall of steel for the defence of our motherland”.

Unprovoked aggression

Field Marshal Munir also shed light on the character of emerging conflict, with particular emphasis on India’s increasingly dangerous propensity to use unprovoked military aggression against Pakistan.

Talking about leadership, the field marshal advised the student officers to fulfill their obligations with utmost dedication, passion and resolve.

Calling for innovative thinking and research, he lauded the Command and Staff College, Quetta, for grooming future military leaders who uphold the highest standards of this sacred profession. Earlier on his arrival, the field marshal was received by the Quetta corps commander and Command and Staff College commandant.
