LAHORE: A labourer was killed while two others were injured when a minaret of an under-construction mosque fell on them on Vehari Road in Multan on Friday.

They were busy fixing the minaret of the mosque but they could not handle it and it fell down. Resultantly, three labourers were trapped under the debris of the minaret. The labourers suffered severe wounds and were shifted to hospital.

One of them, identified as Sadaqat, 30, succumbed to his injuries while two others, Ijaz, 30, and Khizer Abbas, 55, were being treated at the hospital.

Rescue officials said the wall of the mosque also caved in after the minaret fell on it.
