BAJAUR: Two women and a man were killed allegedly for honour in Bajaur’s Mamond tehsil on Friday, the police said.

Confirming the incident, War Mamond police station SHO Niaz Mohammad told reporters that it occurred in Lowi Kharki area on Friday morning.

The official said that a suspect allegedly shot dead a 28-year-old married woman, and then killed a 33-year-old man.

The SHO said the suspect’s gunfire also hit a 70-year-old woman, who was pronounced dead at the District Headquarters Hospital, Khar, after suffering serious injuries. The police officer, who visited the site of the incident, said that the suspect fled after committing the crime, saying the 28-year-old was said to be the relative of the killer.

However, he said that efforts were underway to arrest the suspected killer after registering a case against him. He said that bodies were handed over to families after completing the necessary legal formalities at the Khar hospital.

DRUGS DESTROYED: The police on Friday destroyed a substantial quantity of narcotics seized from suspects.

The confiscated narcotics were destroyed at the Khar Police Lines under the supervision of senior civil judge Muhibur Rehman and civil judge Shahab Faheem, said a statement.

The statement said that destroyed drugs, including 121kg charas, 2.2kg opium, 33 grams heroin, and 151 grams ice had been seized in various operations conducted in different areas of the district. The confiscated drugs were later safely incinerated under the supervision of SP investigations Naveed Iqbal and DSP Sohail Salar, according to a statement from the DPO office.
