We’ve seen super pets saving their superhero masters, and even pets leading secret lives — but would you believe a cat and a dog, always at odds, get lost during a home move and still manage to survive the weirdest of situations together?

Well, that’s Gracie & Pedro: Pets to the Rescue for you, it tells the story of an adopted cat ‘Pedro’, and a spirited female dog ‘Gracie’, who are constantly at each other’s throats — true to the phrase “fighting like cats and dogs” — until circumstances force them to unite against the odds. With wildly contrasting personalities, both are accidentally left behind during their family’s relocation.

What follows is an unexpected adventure across various colourful settings — from the glittering chaos of Las Vegas to the vast, unforgiving desert. Along the way, they encounter a host of eccentric characters, and what begins as a rivalry slowly transforms into a genuine bond, forged through shared challenges and growing friendship.

The film boasts a stellar voice cast, including Susan Sarandon, Bill Nighy, Alicia Silverstone, Brooke Shields, and Al Franken. Their performances bring warmth, humour, and depth to every scene, thanks to their rich and dynamic portrayals — it’s easy to forget they’re animated!

The supporting characters — from a bunny rabbit and the quirky rat duo Rasputin and Wade, to wisecracking snakes, an evil condor, and a sly ferret named Sherlock — each leave a lasting impression. Sherlock, who hilariously tags along with a detective named Doyle, is a standout, cleverly nodding to the fact that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle created the famous detective Sherlock Holmes.

The family, also on the lookout for Gracie and Pedro, aren’t just background figures — they’re the heart of the story. The children, Sophie and Gavin, use their creativity and tech-savviness to create a viral video in a heartfelt plea to bring their beloved pets home. Their actions show how clever thinking and emotional courage can triumph over even the most challenging situations. Their love becomes the film’s emotional core, reminding us that sometimes, the smallest voices make the biggest difference.

Gracie & Pedro: Pets to the Rescue is a heart-warming, action-packed tale of unlikely friendship, family bonds, and finding strength in teamwork. The 127-minute film is a delightful adventure for all ages and a perfect reminder that even the most unlikely duos can become the greatest heroes.
