RAWALPINDI: Around 22 assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs) and 17 head constables of the Rawalpindi police were promoted to the next rank, it emerged on Thursday.

The promotion orders were issued by Rawalpindi Regional Police Officer (RPO) Babar Sarfraz Alpa.

A special board, consisting of district police officers from all five districts, was formed under the leadership of the RPO for the promotion of the personnel.

After examining their recommendations and service records, promotion orders were issued in light of the personnel’s excellent service history.

A police spokesman said that the board members included Rawalpindi City Police Officer Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani, Attock District Police Officer (DPO) Dr Sardar Ghiyas Gul Khan, Chakwal DPO retired Lt Ahmed Mohiuddin, Jhelum DPO Tariq Aziz Sindhu, Murree DPO Asif Amin Awan, and Rawalpindi Superintendent of Police (SP) Legal Abdul Farooq.

The board meeting was attended by the Rawalpindi CPO, SP Legal Rawalpindi and staff from the regional office. Other board members and district police officers participated via video link.

The board made its recommendations after reviewing the service records and all relevant data of the personnel.

Based on their recommendations, 22 ASIs were promoted to the post of sub-inspector and 17 head constables were promoted to the post of ASI. Those promoted from ASI to sub-inspector include Najeebullah, Jamshed Khan, Tanveer Hussain, Shabbir Ahmed, Mohammad Nisar, Mohammad Javed Kausar, Mohammad Salman, Nadeem Islam, Fakhar Ayub, Naheed Zahra, Gulshan Baz, Riffaaq Ahmed, Khizr Hayat, Muhammad Shafiq, Rustam Ali, Wajid Naseem, Naveed Iqbal and Habdar Hussain.

Those promoted conditionally, subject to completion of pending ACRs, include Mohammad Iftikhar, Imran Fazal, Akmal Hussain and Tariq Mahmood.

Those promoted from head constable to ASI include Faisal Nazir, Khurram Shahzad, Mudassar Muzaffar, Irfan Ishaq, Waqas Ali, Asif Ali Khan, Mohammad Imran Gulshan, Mohammad Arif, Abdul Qadeer Khan, Ahmed Raza Khan, Hasrat Khan, Kamran Fida, Asim Mohammad Akhmat, Ghulam Mujtaba and Mohammad Shakoor Khan.

Those promoted conditionally, subject to completion of pending ACRs, include Rizwan Afsar and Mohammad Usman.

RPO Alpa congratulated the promoted officers and said that as per the orders of Punjab inspector general of police, the process of timely promotions will continue.

“All the officers have been promoted to the next rank based on their excellent service record and performance. Now your responsibilities have increased further; therefore, you should perform your duties with greater effort and dedication than before,” the RPO said.
