PAKISTAN has played its cards reasonably well so far after the Indian attack. The nation awaits the next scenario to unfold. Pakistan has warned it would reply befittingly as it is an innocent party. India’s shameless exhibition of hubris, having carried out operations in the United States and Canada, is periodically put in place by Pakistan. Today, Pakistan has the moral high ground in the eyes of the world. The people await Pakistan’s next steps.

It may well be apparent to discerning Pakistanis that all this drama by India is a smokescreen to achieve its bigger Hindutva aim of destroying Pakistan, with its delusional ‘ingenious’ strategy of drying the country up. It has suspended the Indus Waters Treaty. Is this not a bigger attack, and does it not portend a calamitous prospect for Pakistan?

What does Pakistan have in its armour to push India back from implementing this crime? We all know the conscience of the international community is dead and putrefying. The story of Palestine and Gaza will be the eternal blot on its face till doomsday.

Pakistan must now focus on the water challenge. The military response must not be squandered. The international community must be made to stop the internationally declared crime of water stoppage that India is guilty of. While everything else is a matter of perception and conjecture, the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty is a self-confessed crime India has committed.

If the world can mumble and jumble its stance when India can attack Pakistan without proof, it must fill its mediation shoes with some self-respect by calling out India on its blatant crime that it has already bloodied its fingers with. It remains for Pakistan’s diplomats and representa-tives to take up the matter effectively.
