DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A retired headmaster was arrested for allegedly assaulting an 11-year-old girl, who used to visit his home for tuition, here on Monday.

A police official said that Sajjad Hussain Shah, a resident of Basti Istrana, lodged a report with the cantonment police station, stating that his minor daughter, who went to the home of a retired headmaster, Abdullah Shah, for tuition, had been feeling unwell for several days.

“Upon visiting the doctor, the shocking truth was revealed that the girl was two months pregnant,” he told the police.

“When we questioned the child with care and concern, she disclosed that the teacher had been repeatedly assaulting her, and even physically abused her to silence her,” the complainant said.

Upon this horrifying revelation, district police officer Sajad Ahmad Sahibzada directed sub-divisional police officer city Mohammad Adnan and SHO Azeemullah Wazir to take swift action.

The police after registering a case conducted a raid and arrested the accused.
