KARACHI, May 5: A bandit, fleeing after snatching cash from a man outside a bank branch, was shot dead by a policeman in Nazimabad on Friday.

Police said that two suspects on a motorcycle snatched Rs100,000 from Hamza who had come out of a bank branch in Gole Market, Nazimabad.

A policeman, posted on guard duty at the bank, opened fire at the suspects killing one of them. His accomplice managed to flee from the spot.

The bandit was identified as Manzoor, and the snatched amount was also recovered from his possession, along with a TT pistol, police said.—Staff Reporter
