KARACHI, May 5: The University of Karachi on Friday announced results of Diploma in Diagnostic Laboratory Sciences (DDLS) Part-I and II annual examination-2005.

Seven of the eight candidates who appeared in the exams were declared passed.

Shaheen Akhtar (seat number 5203) secured first position, Saima Idrees (seat number 5206) stood second and Syeda Noreen Jehan (seat number 5204) was declared third. All position holders belonged to the Liaquat National Hospital College.

Seat numbers of to remaining successful candidates are 5202, 5205, 5207 and 5208.

In DDLS Part-I, out of the eight candidates who appeared in the exams, six were declared passed. The seat numbers of the successful candidates are 5101, 5102, 5103, 5104, 5105 and 5107.

Iranian diplomats: Consul General Syed Moosa Hussaini and Deputy Consul General Syed Mujaddadin of Iran called on KU VC Dr Pirzada Qasim at his office on Friday and presented him books, as well as magazines, computers and a laser printer for the KU’s Persian Department.

The delegation spent some time with Dr Siddiqui and discussed with him matters of mutual interests. The diplomats stressed on inter-varsities linkage programme and offered scholarship to Persian students for advance studies in Iran.

Dean of the Faculty of Arts Prof Shamsuddin and chairperson of the Persian Department Dr Rehana Afsar were also present.—PPI
