BANNU: In a tragic development, a young cricketer, named Aleem Khan, passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest during a match of Pakistan Cricket Board’s Challenge Cup in Bannu on Monday.

According to media reports, the heart-breaking incident occurred during a two-day fixture when pacer Aleem, 24, suddenly collapsed while bowling. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but could not be revived.

Aleem, who was a resident of Bannu, was laid to rest on Tuesday, his family confirmed.

Abdullah Khurram Niazi, PCB’s director of domestic cricket, expressed deep sorrow over the youngster’s death.”

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Aleem. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family during this difficult time,” Abdullah said.
