LAHORE: Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan asserted Pakistan’s unwavering resolve and complete capability to decisively respond to any Indian aggression. He emphasized the unified stance of the armed forces, the leadership, and the people of Pakistan.

Speaker Khan stated unequivocally, “India’s fundamental issue lies with the very existence of Pakistan. While I have always advocated for dialogue, negotiations become futile when basic rights are denied.”

Addressing a seminar titled ‘Pakistan-India Issues, the Role of the Armed Forces, Kashmir, Terrorism, Water Disputes, and the Role of the United Nations’, the speaker underscored that it transcends a mere territorial issue, representing the fundamental right to self-determination for millions. “The Kashmir conflict has persisted for centuries, and a plebiscite remains the only viable solution. Through constitutional amendments, India has unleashed severe oppression on the Kashmiri people, rendering their lives unbearable,” he asserted.

Expressing dismay over the silence of global powers, he questioned, “Why does the global conscience remain unmoved in the face of state-sponsored terrorism? Can India conceal its atrocities behind the facade of its economy and trade?”

Addressing the critical issue of water resources, the speaker affirmed Pakistan’s internationally recognized rights. “Any attempt by India to block our water or engage in water aggression will be considered an act of war. Such actions are a blatant violation of the Indus Waters Treaty and international law.” He also highlighted India’s inconsistent approach concerning rivers like the Brahmaputra.

He issued a stern warning, stating, “If India chooses the path of war, it will bear sole responsibility for the consequences. Both nations are nuclear powers, and a nuclear confrontation could impact two billion people, plunging the world into darkness for the next twenty-five years due to its environmental repercussions.”

Speaker Khan emphasized the nation’s solidarity, saying, “The army chief is at the forefront, and the prime minister has already articulated the national strategy. Since India’s threats of aggression, we have witnessed the entire nation rallying behind its armed forces. Propaganda voices have been silenced, and this spirit of national unity must be preserved eternally.”
