ISLAMABAD: Secretariat police have arrested as many as five youngsters for bathing and swimming in Rawal Dam in violation of Section 144.

According to a statement, the district administration has already imposed Section 144 against bathing and swimming in Rawal Dam.

“Five persons were arrested as they were violating Section 144 and a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against them,” it stated.

The administration has warned people not to go in the water of the dam or they will have to face consequences.

According to the FIR, available withDawn, Magistrate Phulgran’s operator Aziz Kathia informed Secretariat police that some youngsters were bathing and swimming in Rawal Dam. Police reached the site and the five persons who were residents of Rawalpindi.

It is worth mentioning here that over the years, a number of people have drowned in the dam, which is why the district administration imposes ban on bathing and swimming time to time.
