Two wedding guests shot by pickpockets in Kasur

KASUR: Two wedding guests got injured as the accomplices of the pickpockets who were caught red-handed at the Kot Radha Kishan Banquet Hall opened indiscriminate fire on Saturday.

According to Kot Radha Kishan police, a gang of pickpockets stole cash and mobile phones from the pockets of wedding guests.

Meanwhile, a woman raised an alarm as she lost her purse containing Rs300,000 cash and a mobile phone. The wedding guests caught two suspected pickpockets, recovered the purse from them and started beating them.

When the guests decided to hand them over to police, the accomplices of the suspects who were present there in the guise of guests opened fire to create panic. Eventually, they got the suspects released and managed to escape.

As a result of the firing, Mubashar and Waqas Tahir were injured and they were shifted to hospital.

Police lodged a case.

In a separate incident, jubilation fire claimed the life of a youth at village Khungrawala in the limits of the Khudian Police Station.

According to police, Umar, 22, was standing at the rooftop of his house to see the wedding procession in his street. Meanwhile, an unidentified wedding guest opened fire and a bullet hit Umar in his belly. The youth was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
