NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Curfew has been imposed in Razmat, Miramshah and Mirali areas of North Waziristan for today (Sunday) after administration received information about possible movement of terrorists, according to officials.

They said that the curfew would remain in place from 6am on Sunday till 6pm.

They added that the curfew would remain imposed from Miramshah till Bannu, Kot Bridge till Dankeen and all the way till Melogai Bridge.

“It was imperative to impose the curfew due to security reasons. The step has been taken as a precautionary measure,” they said.

The district administration urged locals to avoid unnecessary movement and cooperate with security forces for maintaining peace in the area. It said that the situation was being monitored continuously.

On the other hand, locals expressed concerns over the order and said that trade activities remained suspended during curfew. “It always leaves an impact on trade and education activities,” said Abdullah, a social worker.
