LAHORE: The Pakistan Railways (PR) has started renovating its Chak Jhumra railway station near Faisalabad in funding collaboration with the local community.

Earlier, Alipur Chattha and Toba Tek Singh stations have also been renovated with the help of local community, according to a spokesman for the PR’s Lahore division. He said the Faisalabad station would also be renovated soon in collaboration with the local community.

DIST ADMIN: The administration has launched operation to improve city’s aesthetic view by deploying dedicated teams across key areas, including Township, College Road, Canal Road, Ichhra, GT Road, Federal Colony, Missile Chowk, Ferozepur Road, and Jubilee Town.

The teams in various operations have effectively cleared illegal structures, significantly improving pedestrian access and traffic flow. In a notable achievement, thousands of unauthorised banners and flexes were also removed from major roads such as Ferozepur Road, Mall Road, Jail Road, GT Road, Ring Road, Ravi Road, Saggian Road, and Allama Iqbal Town Road, restoring the city’s aesthetic appeal and reinforcing urban discipline.

Additionally, the administration seized 10 illegally kept cattle from urban areas, aligning with MCL’s strict policy against livestock in city limits to enhance public hygiene, according to a spokesman.
