DADU: A coal-laden goods train returning from coal power project at Akhundabad, Jamshoro, derailed near Kotri railway station on Sunday, bringing all traffic on down track to a complete halt.
The derailment took place near a railway crossing close to the Kotri station and the Jamshoro Thermal Powerhouse, leading to suspension of passenger train service from Punjab to Karachi. All trains had to be halted at Hyderabad railway station.
Later, a crane was summoned from the nearby station which began operation to put the train back on track.
