ISLAMABAD: Shopkeepers and customers narrowly escaped bullets during an armed robbery at a barber shop in the federal while in other incidents, robbers looted cash and valuables in strikes at five locations.

The police reported that a gang of three robbers looted a barber shop located within the Sihala police jurisdiction and resorted to firing and beating.

They said the incident took place at the barber shop of a citizen named Mohammad Sajjid where three persons armed with weapons raided.

One of them remained outside the shop while two entered it and held up the shopkeepers and customers at gunpoint.

The two robbers also started beating up the barbers and customers black and blue, they added. Later they looted mobile phones and cash from those held at gunpoint.

The robbers also resorted to firing and escaped from the spot along with the looted booty.

Likewise, another gang of robbers looted a shop located in the limits of Shahzad Town police station.

The incident took place at a building material shop located at Ghauri Town Phase 5B during Iftar.

Two armed muggers raided the shop and held the owner and labourers at gunpoint.

According to the shopkeeper, they looted cash worth Rs25,000 and two mobile phones.

In another incident, a gang of three robbers looted Rs250,000 from a sales manager of an ice cream company within the limits of Koral police station.

He told the police that he had come to Ghuri Town to deliver supplies to a pharmacy shop.

While returning from the shop, three riders intercepted and looted Rs230,000 from him and Rs20,000 from his driver. Similarly, a gang of robbers looted cash and a motorcycle from a man within the Noon police station’s limits.

The citizen told the police that armed robbers looted cash worth Rs16,000, a mobile phone and his Honda 125 motorcycle.

In another incident, a gang of two robbers looted cash, a motorcycle and a mobile phone from a rider of a ride-hailing service at a mere 200 meters distance from the Koral police station.

Separately, thieves looted cash and gold jewellery from a house located one and a half kilometres from the Karachi Company police station. The respective police stations have registered cases and started an investigation.
