ISLAMABAD: A woman and her granddaughter were killed after being hit by a vehicle bearing green registration plate in Islamabad, police said

The incident took place near Chongi No 26, where a bus of University Kamra Campus, bearing green registration plate hit the woman and her granddaughter when they were crossing road, the police said.

As a result they sustained critical injuries and were shifted to hospital where they were pronounced dead, they added.

Later, the bodies of the deceased were handed over to their relatives, who took themto their native town in Azad Kashmir for the last ritual. They told police that they would lodge complaint over the accident upon their return.
