Ahmad Abu Riziq, the founder of the Gaza Great Minds Foundation — an initiative started to continue children’s education during Israel’s military offensive — has said the situation in Gaza City is currently “catastrophic”, according to Al Jazeera.
“The entire infrastructure in Gaza is totally destroyed and people are suffering every day,” he told Al Jazeera, highlighting the lack of clean water for the territory’s population.
Abu Riziq said the water available is often contaminated with sewage water, while the lack of fuel due to Israel’s blockade is making the process of cleaning it even more difficult.
