TAXILA: Police on Friday arrested a man for sexually assaulting his widowed sister-in-law in her house in mohalla Langar Khana in village Thatta in the remits of Bassal police station of Attock on Friday.

The woman reported to police that her husband died some five months ago and she is living with her in-laws. On Thursday evening, her brother-in-law locked her son in a room and took her to another room at gunpoint and sexually assaulted her.

Later, she revealed her ordeal to her parents, who took her to the police station and after a medical examination confirmed the assault, police arrested the nominated accused.

Man guns down brother

A man gunned down his brother over property dispute in Hassanabdal police area on Friday. Shahab Khan- of Bara Khyber Agency has reported to Police that his father Asghar Khan has rented out his house to his brother Shakeel Khan. On Friday, when he visited his brother’s house to collect the rent, his brother Shakeel refused to pay him outstanding rent which resulted in an exchange of harsh words between them.

Out of rage, Shakeel along with his two sons tortured and later shot him and fled away from the scene. Police handed over the body after autopsy at tehsil headquarters hospital and launched a search for the accused after registration of a murder case against them.

Criminal arrested

A hardened criminal wanted in different heinous crimes like murder and attempt murder besides robberies was arrested in injured condition after a shootout with police near Bafud road in the limits of Hassanabdal police area, Police spokesman said on Friday.

The police spokesperson claimed that the suspect was injured by his own accomplices during an exchange of fire.

According to the police spokesman, Kamran Khan was wanted in 14 different murder, attempted murder, robbery and snatching cases. The outlaw was living underground after committing robbery in 2023.
