DADU: The headmaster of a government school survived an armed attack in Sehwan on Wednesday, officials said.

They said that a group of armed men opened fire at Pir Muhammad Rind, the Headmaster of the Government Boys High School Sehwan, when he was supervising exams. However, he luckily escaped unhurt.

The officials said that the attackers had targeted him but the bullets hit his office and some vehicles parked on the premises of the school.

The armed men fled after the attack.

Sehwan DSP Ahmed Bux Raho and SHO Zulfiqar Odhano reached the school after the attack.

The area SHO assured the teachers that the authorities would take all-out measures to arrest those responsible for attacking educational institutions.

The culprits involved in the incident would be arrested soon, he said.

Four held over attack, CM told

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah took notice of the attack on the high school in Sehwan and directed the Jamshoro SSP to submit a comprehensive report on the incident.

SSP Mohammad Zafar Siddique informed the CM that four suspects involved in the firing had been arrested, and a Kalashnikov had been recovered from them.

He said that a case had been registered at the Sehwan police station against 11 suspects. He had personally visited the school and talked to affected teachers, he added.

Teachers’ protest

Panic and fear gripped the school and teachers staged a protest. They chanted slogans and demanded security.

The teachers strongly condemned the firing at an educational institution over what they called a land dispute.
