Israeli politician Yair Golan is calling for a “liberal democratic front of struggle” to return Israeli captives home and to ensure the fighting in Gaza does not ignite again, Al Jazeera reports.

“I call on all opposition leaders, in and out of the Knesset, without exception — to rise above all political disputes and interests and form a single, strong, clear, and coordinated liberal democratic front of struggle,” Golan said in a post on X.

He added: “The lives of the hostages are in real danger, [Israeli] soldiers are about to be sent to a war without a security purpose, intended only to serve Netanyahu’s survival; a budget that tears the working public apart; and the rule of law is under dangerous attack.”
