TAXILA: The Punjab Governor and Chancellor of Arid University Rawalpindi, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, has directed the newly appointed Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Qamaruz Zaman, to prioritise completion of the university sub-campus in Attock.

Dr Qamaruz Zaman, who recently returned from Canada and joined the university, has launched multiple initiatives to make the long-delayed Attock campus fully operational.

“Priorities will be given to completion of pending civil work that has hindered the campus’s development for years, followed by establishment of research laboratories to enhance academic and scientific learning and setting up a well-equipped library to support students and faculty in their studies,” said Dr Zaman while talking to newsmen on Wednesday.

He said green lawns will be developed to create a conducive academic environment and high-speed internet facilities will be provided to ensure digital connectivity for students and researchers.

“Establishment of a state-of-the-art Smart Agriculture Farm, incorporating precision agriculture technologies, including the use of drones, automated irrigation systems, and modernised farming techniques”, he said.
