HARIPUR: The death toll from a gas cylinder blast rose to four as a hospitalised woman and her daughter succumbed to injuries here on Wednesday. Five members of a family suffered burns after the blast.

According to hospital and family sources, a girl, in her teens, died, while her parents and two siblings suffered burns after the Feb 27 early morning gas cylinder blast in the Aalam village of the Dheenda village council. The blast damaged a room partially.

Police and rescue workers shifted the injured to the trauma centre but as there is no burns unit, the doctors referred them to the Ayub Medical Complex Abbottabad. However, they’re shifted to the Peshawar Lady Reading Hospital due to critical condition.

One of the injured, Abeeha Saeed succumbed to injuries soon after reaching the centre. Yaseen Saeed, 12, died on Tuesday, while his wife, Naheed Bibi, and their daughter, Manahil Saeed, succumbed to burn injuries on Wednesday.

Saeed Yousuf, the only family member who survived the blast, is under treatment at the hospital.
